Development of transport complex in Tatarstan

The Republic of Tatarstan has a developed transport network. The government of Tatarstan is making considerable efforts to expand it. In the framework of the meeting of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the legislative ensuring for the implementation of the Strategy of development of transport complex of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2016-2016 with perspective until 2030 was presented.

Transport is one of the basic sectors of the national economy, its total contribution to the budget of Tatarstan amounted to 6,4% in 2017.

There are 24 railway stations, 223 railway stopping platforms, 16 bus terminals, 11 bus stations, 89 stopping points, 2 international airports and 1 airport of regional importance in Tatarstan.

Tatarstan notes the need to build high-speed roads of the first and second technical category with a speed of movement of at least 100 km/h; large strategic bridge crossings as a part of transport corridors; railways, including high-speed with transport hubs; reconstruction of airports to increase their capacity.

As a part of the creation of the international transport corridor "Europe – Western China", the Republic of Tatarstan is implementing the investment project "Construction of toll highway"Shali (M-7) - Bavly (M-5)" in the development of a new route of the Federal highway "Kazan – Orenburg".

It is planned to continue the reconstruction of the federal highway M-7. It is about two sites in the direction of Chuvashia.

The reconstruction of the airport "Begishevo" is covered through funds from the federal budget.

The Republic is also involved in the implementation of federal programs to subsidize air transportation. In 2017, there were 17 such routes in Tatarstan, this year there are 23 of them, the expansion of the transportation network is planned.

As a part of the ongoing work on amendments to the strategy of socio-economic development of Tatarstan until 2030, it is planned to implement a number of projects in the period from 2020 to 2030.

First of all, we are talking about the resumption of the ferry crossing between the Kamskoye Ustye district and Bolgar on the terms of public-private partnership. The crossing will reduce the path by 170 kilometers. First of all, it will have a positive impact on business and tourism development.

In addition, the implementation of investment projects in the Kama agglomeration is planned.

Industry experts identified a range of issues, the solution of which will contribute to the development of the transport industry.  So, the challenge is to eliminate the personnel shortage and increase wages, as well as reduce tariffs and prices of oil and lubricants, growth of which has a negative impact on the economy of transport companies.

Strategy of transport complex development of the Republic of Tatarstan will allow us to attract partners and implement new projects. There is a good PPP mechanism for infrastructural projects in the field of transport according to Federal Act No. 224, it is necessary to use it", - the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina believes.
