«Tatarstan-Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur» business forum: expansion of the Tatarstani-French business community

France is one of the priority partners of Tatarstan in the Western European direction. Cooperation in the field of electricity, information, health care and tourism is successfully developing. In order to expand the spheres of cooperation, a business forum «Tatarstan-Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur» was held in Marseille today.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Mayor of Marseille on International Relations Jean Roatta, representative of the President of the region, Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Enterprises Ms. Isabelle Campagnola Savon and Consul General of Russia to Marseille Sergey Molchanov spoke at the opening ceremony.

«I would like to thank you for the opportunity to present our Republic. I believe, we should intensify our contacts», - Rustam Minnikhanov said in his welcoming speech.

The Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina presented economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan. She spoke about the advantages of doing business in the region, among which strong resource base, developed investment infrastructure with favorable conditions in the form of tax incentives and preferences should be mentioned. Thus, there are 2 special economic zones, 5 territories of advanced socio-economic development, technoparks and industrial sites operating in Tatarstan.

«Tatarstan is a progressive region. The dynamics can be seen in the growth of economy, improving living standards, infrastructure development, increasing human resources, which lay the formula of investment attractiveness. Active support from the Government of Tatarstan, the regions of France and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency surely will contribute to the establishment of even stronger business relations, building effective cooperation between our countries and regions, and will ensure the growth of the Tatarstani-French business community», - Talia Minullina noted.

The forum discussed promising options for cooperation with the business circles of the Alps-Provence-Cote d'Azur region.

An important outcome of the event was the signing of the Memorandum of understanding between Innopolis University and Mediterranean Institute of Research and Computer Science and robotics (IMERIR).

Innopolis University is the intellectual core of the first Russian city for IT professionals, located 45 km from Kazan. On the territory of Innopolis city there is a Special Economic Zone «Innopolis» for investors and residents from high-tech sectors of the economy.

The University specializes in education and scientific research in the field of information technology and robotics. All faculties of the University are narrow-focused. At the same time, over 70 percent of teachers are representatives of foreign countries. The University is very popular: applications for training come from almost all over the world.
