Results of the SCO Heads of Regions Meeting
On May 14-16, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the events as part of the meeting of the heads of regions from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states and the 2nd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
During the visit to Chongqing, the delegation visited major Chinese enterprises and held a series of negotiations. The possibility to open the power generating equipment plant in Tatarstan was discussed with the top management of the Chinese energy company. It has been agreed that the representatives of the Chinese enterprise make a visit to Tatarstan.
The representatives of 10 countries (China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Belarus) took part in the SCO heads of regions meeting. Russia was represented by three regions: the Republic of Tatarstan, the Samara Region and the Chelyabinsk Region. The meeting was held as a plenary meeting and sessions. As part of the event, the Trade and Investment Forum has been held as well. The economic activity and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan was presented by Insaf Galiev, the First Deputy Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
