The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan paid a working visit to the Czech Republic. The seventh meeting of the Joint Working Group for the Coordination of Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan was held in Prague. The representatives of government and industrial companies took part in the meeting. The Czech delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Eduard Muricky.
The parties noted that this work contributes to the development of interaction between countries and regions. The cooperation with such Tatarstan companies as Kazan Helicopter Plant and JSC Vacuummash, as well as an increase in goods turnover and production facilities localization in Tatarstan, was considered. Among the promising areas of cooperation are the machine-tool industry and aviation engine building, exchange of experience, introduction of new energy-saving technologies, use of biotechnology, participation of Czech companies in industry exhibitions in Tatarstan, and implementation of joint investment projects. The South Moravian region of the Czech Republic has been identified as a point for extension of cooperation.
Another milestone event for the development of Tatarstan-Czech relations was the Czech-Tatarstan business forum with the participation of government and business circles. The First Deputy Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Insaf Galiev, has presented the economic activities and investment potential of Tatarstan.
The results of the past events were summed up at a meeting with the Ambassador of Russia to the Czech Republic Alexander Zmeevsky.
Negotiations were also held with the heads of major Czech companies on cooperation in the production of water circulation systems, cooling towers, and the possible joint assembly production and a service center for low-power turbines.
