The washing machine plant became the first enterprise in the Haier Industrial Park
In Naberezhnye Chelny, an opening ceremony of the washing machine plant and the Haier Industrial Park was held. Among those who attended the event was the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the General Director of the Haier Group Zhang Ruimin, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, and the Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev.
The construction of the plant was launched a year ago. It is expected to produce 500 thousand washing machines per year as the first stage of production. When additional line is launched, the production is to be doubled. The company will create over 300 jobs. This is the second enterprise of the Chinese corporation in the republic. In 2016, the refrigeration equipment plant was opened in the motor city.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Igor Komarov noted that trade and economic cooperation with China is a priority for the regions of the Volga Federal District and, in particular, for the Republic of Tatarstan.
“Haier's expansion of production in Naberezhnye Chelny plays an important role in the development of relations between Russia and China, and promotes mutually beneficial cooperation. I would like to note that the corporation has extensive plans for the development of production in Tatarstan. The opening of the Haier Industrial Park will be the first milestone on the way to launch in Russia a high-tech and meeting the best world standards production of consumer electronics,” said the Plenipotentiary Envoy.
“Yesterday, I had an opportunity to report to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the opening of a new plant with our Chinese partners. Our President supports this project utterly and completely. I am sure that this is only the beginning of a long way. It is a large project in the framework of the Russia-China relations,” said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The washing machine plant became the first enterprise in the Haier Industrial Park having an area of 127 hectares. Also, in the park there will be the production facilities of Haier for the production of various types of household appliances: TV sets, freezing equipment, and electric kitchen equipment. Moreover, it is planned to located here the plants for sheet metal processing and the production of the plastic foam parts, a warehouse complex, and a research and development center, etc.
