Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum

In Kazan, the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum was held at the Kazan Fair exhibition center. 180 industry leaders from 31 regions of Russia and 23 neighboring and far abroad countries took part in it.

Under the forum, the industry exhibitions and 17 business events concerning industry digitalization, innovations in oil and gas production and oilfield services, efficient use of natural resources, etc. have been held.

About 180 companies from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Canada, Korea, the Czech Republic, and Japan took part in the exhibitions.

“This year, our forum is dedicated to a significant date – the 300th anniversary of the Russian mining and industrial supervision. The history of the service is inextricably linked with the history of development of the industry of our country, strengthening of its raw materials and power potential,” noted Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, in his welcoming speech.

“Such events as this forum are a platform where we discuss new technologies, innovations that can be implemented in the companies. The main purpose remains unchanged – to ensure occupational safety, reduction in incidents and accidents. Over the past decades, there has been a positive trend in Russia in reducing accidents and injuries,” said Alexander Trembitsky, the Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision.

Under a round table with leading experts, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Taliya Minullina, and the Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities of Tatarstan, Irek Faizullin, have discussed the extension of the use of the republican-made petrochemical products in the construction industry. 

“The industry of Tatarstan is the pride of our country. Thanks to the large industrial facilities, the Republic today is an economically stable and prosperous area. In our economic structure, industry occupies more than 40%. Mining, chemistry and petrochemistry, mechanical engineering and metalworking, construction and electric power are the developed industries. International companies choose Tatarstan, as in our region the best conditions for the successful implementation of investment projects have been created. Rich natural resources, well-developed modern infrastructure and state support mechanisms, and most of all, the promotion of a friendly team of professionals are the formula to joint success!” said Taliya Minullina.

In 2018, 36.4 million tons of oil was produced in Tatarstan, the volume of products shipped in the oil refining sector amounted to 616.5 billion rubles, the oil refining depth of JSC TANECO was 99%. Tatarstan produces 42.3% of ethylene polymers in Russia, 26.1% of the Russian tires, and 33.5% of the Russian trucks.

One of the largest petrochemical companies in Europe, being the number one in the production of synthetic rubbers and plastics in Russia, PJSC NIZHNEKAMSKNEFTECHIM, is located in Tatarstan.

As part of the petrochemical events, the awarding ceremony for the best exhibits, projects and technical solutions presented at the industry exhibitions of the forum was held. Three of five top awards were given to PJSC Tatneft.

In addition, a number of agreements have been signed, including on cooperation in the area of industrial safety of power facilities of the Republic of Tatarstan between JSC Tatenergo and Energobezopasnost Scientific and Technical Center (Moscow).
