Mexican architect Miguel Robles-Duran to open a summer urban school together with KFU

This year, from June 30 will be working summer urban and city planning school under the guidance of Miguel Robles-Duran and his colleagues as part of Kazan Urban Forum.

The school will be organized jointly with the Institute of Governance and Territorial Development of Kazan Federal University (KFU) and will last until July 11.

Last year, Miguel Robles-Duran has come to Kazan and performed a public lecture at the Kazan Federal University.

 

About Miguel Robles-Duran

Architect, urbanist Miguel Robles-Duran (born in 1975) studied architecture at the Monterrey Technology Institute of and the Institute of Architecture in Southern California in Los Angeles, as well as at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam, where he received a master's degree.

Received a PhD in urbanism theory and political economy of urbanization. Developed its training program in collaboration with Berlage Institute and Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. Is one of the founders of the International non-profit organization «Cohabitation Strategies», working in New York and Rotterdam, and deals with problems of socio-spatial development, in particular the deterioration of living in cities, social inequality and segregation.

Miguel Robles-Duran is the head of the master's program «Design and Urban Ecology» in Parsons New School, New York and one of the founders of the interdisciplinary research program «Civil City» at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD).

He is one of the authors of the book «Urban Asymmetries: Studies and Projects on Neoliberal Urbanization», one of the most critical research undertaken in many countries today by neoliberal urban policies, have been proposed for the development of the market laws.
