The concept of SMART City Kazan master plan was presented to President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov

Today the improved concept of SMART City Kazan master plan was presented to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov within the VII Russian-Singapore Business Forum.

The project was developed by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Malaysian Consortium comprised of AJM Planning and Urban Design Group, Straits Consulting Engineers and Amanah Capital Group Limited.

The SMART City Kazan is being implemented under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and supervising state authority - Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. JSC "Tatarstan Development Corporation”, a special executive company, was created to accomplish the project.

The Managing Director of AJM Planning and Urban Design Group, Norliza Hashi, has presented the master plan’s concept of SMART City Kazan. She stressed on the project’s advantageous location in close proximity to Kazan International airport, and the fact that it certainly can become one of Tatarstan’s landmarks. The project developers believe that modern infrastructure, eco-friendly technologies, latest ICT facilities of the new state-of-the-art city will competitively attract major multinational, Russian and Tatarstan companies. SMART City Kazan project is to transform Kazan into a new international business hub as well as become a major exhibition and conference center. 

Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov praised the work done by the Consortium and emphasized that the SMART City is a unique project for the whole Russia. According to Mr. President, the project is of great importance for Tatarstan, and, therefore, the global best practices will be utilized on the realization of the project. Also, Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his confidence that SMART City will add an extra value for the further development of Kazan as the most strategic objects and improved transport infrastructure are to be allocated there.

Within the framework of the project’s presentation, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, met with SMART City Kazan project’s perspective investors, the representatives of PHCapital to discuss collaboration on the further realization of the project. 

Furthermore, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov and Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Mr. Linar Yakupov witnessed the signing of the agreement between JSC "Tatarstan Development Corporation” and Malaysian Consortium on the development of SMART City Kazan master plan’s design work.
