In May 2016, Ozon began building its complex in Tatarstan. Already in September, a warehouse with an area of 3.5 thousand square meters was opened in the Laishevsky district. In 2019, the Wildburys logistics center with an area of 100 thousand square meters was opened.

If 10 years ago the entire sales volume in online trading was generated in Moscow and St. Petersburg, now the regions have become significantly stronger. Moscow and St. Petersburg account for only 30 percent.
The turnover in the e-commerce market in Tatarstan is 123 billion rubles in 2023.

If we compare it with the approximate market turnover of the republic - this is more than a trillion rubles, then this is a tenth of it.
Tatarstan entered the top 10 regions in terms of e-commerce turnover in Russia. Sales volume is growing by at least 20% annually.

In recent years, more than 100 thousand new jobs have been created in the Republic of Tatarstan in sectors related to online trading, as well as related industries. The number of Tatarstan sellers on marketplaces in 2022 increased by 2 times – to 45 thousand. They traded for an amount exceeding 50 billion rubles. Revenues to the republic's budget exceeded 3 billion rubles

Today, according to the latest data, 60 thousand personal accounts of Tatarstan sellers operate on marketplaces.

The e-commerce development program in the Republic of Tatarstan showed good results, so the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan decided to extend it until 2025.

Regarding investments, in recent years there has been a clear trend towards logistics. In terms of investment volume, the leaders are projects related to the construction of large warehouse complexes, including those aimed at operating marketplaces.

One of the most high-profile projects today is the logistics hub of the SEZ PPT “Alabuga” JSC on the territory of the Tukaevsky municipal district. The complex will include a container railway terminal with a capacity of 100 thousand containers per year and warehouse space with an area of 100 thousand square meters. meters. The goal of this project is to fine-tune the process of exporting polymers to the Asia-Pacific region. The volume of investments is 78 billion rubles. It is planned that on the way back from China, trains will carry goods for marketplaces.

Tatarstan is becoming a center of innovative approaches to the activities of marketplaces. In order to maximize the optimization of material and human resources, the head of KazanExpress Linar Khusnullin proposed a project for the construction of an “E-Commerce City” in the Verkhneuslonsky district closest to the capital of Tatarstan. The volume of investments is 352 million rubles. The project passed the Investment Council in March last year.

Prior to the commissioning of the 1st stage of the 1st stage of the project (creation of the Verkhniy Uslon industrial park), it is planned to begin the construction of residential facilities for residents of the industrial park.

The advantage is that the district industrial park will have a preferential tax regime. The second advantage is savings on logistics due to the fact that the warehouses of all major marketplaces are within reach of several kilometers; such manufacturers and sellers will save on logistics. Third: it is planned to provide residential infrastructure for this industrial park: housing, parks, public gardens, schools and kindergartens.

Kazanexpress is a Tatarstan brand that was able to reach the international level specifically in the field of e-commerce. First thanks to AliExpress, now the merger with Magnit will create an unprecedented network of delivery points. The company is also considering the possibility of opening warehouse complexes on the territory of the Sviyazhsk multimodal logistics center. This is also the most important logistics project that is being implemented today with a Belarusian investor.

Of course, there is a centripetal force regarding the location of complexes for marketplaces - these are areas near Kazan - Zelenodolsky, Vysokaya Gora. Therefore, when choosing a location for a project, the government of the republic often recommends that the investor be located in different parts of the republic; for example, it is planned to build a large Wildberries logistics complex in the Zakamsk zone.

PakPrestus LLC, a large federal investor that is engaged in the construction of production and warehouse complexes, by decision of the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on September 6, 2023, received a plot for the implementation of the project in the Tukaevsky district of Tatarstan. The investor builds his facilities initially in accordance with the requirements of the marketplaces with which preliminary placement agreements have been concluded.

Talia Minullina: “Our task in working with investors today is not to create warehouse complexes, but to skillfully use available resources and develop large infrastructure projects that are being implemented in the republic. They provide opportunities for the most daring logistics solutions.”
