An annual message to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan was delivered today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov within the frameworks of the 2nd session of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan of the 6th convocation.

“Tatarstan continues to steadily develop. Positive trends were observed both in the economy and in the social sphere. Large-scale programs and projects are implemented, which are aimed at increasing the quality of life. This became possible due to the developed economic potential, attracting investments, active participation in implementing national projects and strategic initiatives of the federal center and personally the Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and their support of Tatarstan”, stated the Head of the Republic.

It was stated that today Tatarstan plays an important role in developing relations between countries and regions, especially with German states, Chinese provinces, etc.

“I would like to make special mention of our working with Muslim countries within the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic world” and KazanSummit forum, which was in this year participated by representatives of 72 countries and 38 Russian regions”, highlighted the President.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the locomotive of the Republic economy are petrochemical and machine-building sectors. Oil processing capacities have been increased; TANECO Group has set into operation production of motor petrol, including that of premium quality. By the end of the year, another four new high-technology productions will be put to operation. Thus, the annual production of high-quality oil products will increase by another 3 mln tons. The strategic task is to develop a new sphere – the gas-and-oil chemical complex.

The Head of the region spoke about the plans to develop investment infrastructure in Tatarstan.

“Today, a powerful investment infrastructure has been created in the Republic. Two Special Economic Zones are successfully functioning – the Alabuga and the Innopolis. One more Special Economic Zone is planned – “AlmA” in Almetyevsk, Leninogorsk and Nizhnekamsk regions, as well as 5 territories of advanced development and 90 industrial sites and parks, including Master Kamsky Industrial Park and Khimgrad Technopolis. By the 100th anniversary of TASSR, we plan to have as much as 100 such sites”, marked Rustam Nurgalievich.

According to the President, the important task is to develop small and middle businesses and to propagate the investment benefits of the Tatarstan municipalities.

The President commissioned to elaborate a program of e-commerce development in the Republic.

“We will take further steps to form the favorable climate for doing business and lifting the pressure of the regulatory authorities.

Reliable marketing of goods is what is essential for business today. To this end, the Republic has launched a Digital Marketing Center, which helps forming new business niches and provides businesses with conditions for marketing their goods. This stock exchange has already helped 500 enterprises to sell their products for over 1.5 bln rubles.

Another opportunity for our manufacturers to enter new markets is active introduction of e-commerce. We attracted to Tatarstan the largest players of this market – OZON and Wildberries companies, which are implementing the projects on building logistics centers in Zelenodolsk region. They will make about 7 thousand new jobs. Tatarstan manufacturers should not miss the opportunity to become suppliers of these large companies”, Rustam Nurgalievich emphasized.

“Every year, the President’s message accentuates investments, as they are the basis of economic development. Without investments, there will be no healthy population, no sport, no jobs, and no rest (the sphere of culture and tourism). We actively and successfully work in the sphere of investments. There are always new challenges ahead, moreover during the tough economic times. I would like to note that Rustam Nurgalievich especially highlighted public-private partnerships in the context of the need to develop state and non-state medicine. Thus, public-private partnership is the priority in our work for the year 2020”, commented Taliya Minullina, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
