Forum of the Republic of Tatarstan and Sichuan Province
Today the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the forum of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Sichuan province, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the signing of an agreement on the establishment of twinning relations.
During his welcoming speech, President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan has the closest ties with the Sichuan province. At the same time, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan called for more intensive work on the implementation of joint economic projects.
Governor of Sichuan Province Huang Jiang, in turn, stressed that over the past 5 years, business and official delegations have made mutual visits between the two regions, and cultural exchanges have been organized.
For example, after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Sichuan and Tatarstan supported each other, helping with medical means.
Within the framework of today's forum, a number of documents on cooperation between Tatarstan and the Sichuan province were signed. Among them are memoranda on the establishment of twinning relations between the cities of Mendeleevsk and Guangyuan, as well as the cities of Leninogorsk and Pengzhou. Kazan Federal University has agreed on cooperation with the Chinese Southwest Petroleum University and with a school at the Second Beijing Institute of Foreign Languages in Chengdu.
