IV Eurasian Orthopedic Forum was held in Kazan

The Eurasian Orthopedic Forum is the largest event in Eurasia in the field of orthopedics, traumatology and related industries.
 
The best specialists from the CIS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, South Asia, the Middle East gathered in the capital of Tatarstan to discuss topical issues on all aspects of the treatment of traumatological and orthopedic diseases, including pharmacotherapy, radiology, anesthesiology, organizational and legal issues of protecting doctors.
 
The forum covered all aspects of the treatment of diseases of the traumatological and orthopedic profile, including pharmacotherapy, radiology, anesthesiology, organizational and legal issues of protecting doctors. The event brought together more than 2,000 professionals from 15 countries. On the first day of the event, participants in scientific and business programs have already discussed important topics: minimally invasive forefoot surgery, robotic systems in traumatology, cellular and biotechnologies in traumatology and orthopedics, treatment of injuries of the upper limb, pathology and injuries of the hip joint, pelvic surgery, standardization and certification medical products, problems of domestic orthopedics and traumatology, and others.
 
An exhibition of medical products and equipment was opened in the pavilions of the forum, in which 90 companies and organizations from around the world took part. Those who wished could try the new equipment and learn how to work with it there, in the "City of Masters", where the participants of the exhibition held practical classes. The Investment Promotion Agency, in turn, participated in the creation of the stand of the Republic of Tatarstan
 
Taliya Minullina moderated the case session “Drivers in the Development of the Medical Industry: Leading Regions in Russia”. As part of the case session, the topic of the medical industry in the Russian Federation was discussed. Manufacturers from the leading subjects of the Russian Federation in this area spoke about their unique developments that allow not only the region, but the whole country to fulfill the plan for operational import substitution, and the authorities shared measures to support the medical industry in the subjects and ways to maintain it at a high level. The speakers were: First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Almir Abashev, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Almir Mikheev and head of the Kurgan Ilizarov Center Alexander Burtsev.
 
The following questions were considered:
 
- development of the medical industry in the leading regions of Russia - how manufacturers cover the demand generated by medical institutions;
 
- intermediate results of the development of the medical industry in the leading regions (the first half of 2023): weaknesses and strengths;
 
- the system of state support for enterprises - are there enough existing measures;
 
- the latest developments of major manufacturers of the leading regions of Russia in the field of traumatology and orthopedics;
 
- prospects for expansion of medical production in the leading regions
 
  
 
A large number of listeners became participants in a lively discussion, because the issues raised during the meeting turned out to be relevant and topical. The discussion highlighted the urgent need for measures such as regulatory change. At the end of the session, presentations of new equipment were made, including from republican manufacturers.
 
In conclusion, Taliya Minullina thanked the participants of the discussion:
 
“We hope for a bright future in the development of the industry, that we will not need these products, but if life decides otherwise, we will be provided with high-quality prostheses and implants produced in the Russian Federation with great government support.”
