The head of the Tatarstan Agency for Investment Development, Talia Minullina, as part of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated in the work of the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan. As part of it, Rais RT met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zhamshid Khojaev.
It was noted that at the end of last year, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan exceeded $290 million - an increase of 50%. “We should continue to work on increasing the volume and range of mutual supplies of goods and services,” said Rustam Minnikhanov.
At the plenary session of the forum, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov greeted the participants on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the heads of a number of Russian regions and khokims of Uzbekistan regions spoke about their experience of interregional cooperation, and also identified the most promising areas for further development of partnerships.
Thus, the khokim of the Jizzakh region Ergash Saliev spoke about the increase in the number of foreign enterprises by 2.5 times. At the same time, the volume of foreign capital attracted by the region has reached $500 million; this year they plan to increase this amount to $1 billion.
He also noted that with the personal support of Rais Tatarstan, the implementation of a technology park project on the basis of Khimgrad with an initial package of more than $100 million has begun. And the KFU branch in Jizzakh will become an incentive for the development of information systems and technologies, traditional and digital medicine and other areas in the region.
