Today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum the results of the annual National rating of the investment climate in the regions of Russia were announced. Tatarstan took second place among all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, yielding only to the federal center, Moscow.
“The systematic work that we are carrying out by the investment team of Tatarstan is reflected in the assessment of the federal center. We (among the regions) are the first again. Forward, Tatarstan! ”, - said the head of the Investment Development Agency of Tatarstan Taliya Minullina.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the rating not only makes it possible to objectively assess the situation in the regions and borrow the best practices, but also allows regional management teams to receive feedback from citizens and to more effectively solve problems of concern to people.
Despite the pandemic, efforts to create a business-friendly environment continued: 40 out of 85 regions improved their integral index compared to last year. At the same time, those entities that were in the second half of the list in the rating of last year, that is, lagging behind, grew more, ”said Svetlana Chupsheva, head of the ASI at the presentation of the rating.
The national rating evaluates the efforts of the authorities at all levels to create a comfortable environment for business. It includes four areas of assessment - the regulatory environment (procedures for business), infrastructure and resources, institutions for business and support for small and medium-sized businesses. The ranking was first presented at the SPIEF in 2014. The rating is compiled by ASI with the participation of the country's leading business associations.
