The oil summit-2021 began its work in Almetyevsk today. The summit participants visited an exhibition of innovations, plenary sessions, and also discussed issues of sustainable development of the oil industry on the basis of the UN Global Compact.

The main agenda of the summit is sustainable development in the context of the 2021 global agenda of the fuel and energy complex. The moderator of the plenary discussion of the summit was the head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina.

The summit is attended by State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Sazanov, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Pavel Sorokin, Head of Glavgosexpertiza Igor Manylov and many others.

“Every country has its own path to CO2 neutrality. We must defend the Russian way. TATNEFT is already moving in this direction, it is necessary to help it in the export of products. Our state policy should be aimed at support in this area, and not at the introduction of new taxes, ”Sazanov said in his speech at the meeting.

The President of Tatarstan, in turn, emphasized the importance not of oil production itself, but of its further processing.

“Practically in the near future, we may not have any oil for sale at all, we will completely process it,” the President of Tatarstan suggested.
