Announcing the Global Energy Prize Laureates
A solemn ceremony was held today at the Kazan City Hall, within the framework of which the winners of the Global Energy Prize of 2021 were announced, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was moderated by the President of the Global Energy Association Sergey Brilev. The head of the Investment Development Agency of Tatarstan Taliya Minullina also took part in the solemn announcement of the laureates.
The Global Energy International Energy Prize recognizes outstanding research and development in the field of energy that enhances the efficiency and environmental safety of energy sources on Earth for the benefit of all mankind.
The President of Tatarstan announced the winner in the category "Non-traditional energy". It was a scientist from Russia Suleiman Allahverdiev. The award was awarded for an outstanding contribution to the development of alternative energy, scientific achievements in the design of artificial photosynthesis systems, a series of scientific works in the field of bioenergy and hydrogen energy.
Russian representative Zinfer Ismagilov also became the winner in the Traditional Energy nomination. US scientist Yi Tsui was selected in the "New Ways of Getting Energy" nomination.
On the eve of this ceremony of announcing the laureates of the Global Energy International prize, the members of the International Committee of the event yesterday, on September 5, visited the United Presentation Center of the Republic of Tatarstan within the walls of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic.
The head of the Agency, Taliya Minullina, made a presentation of the region, where she told the guests in more detail how Tatarstan manages to remain the largest center for the development of technologies for traditional oil production and petrochemistry, as well as alternative energy directions.
“Tatarstan was not chosen by chance as the venue for the ceremony. We see how innovative this region is. This also applies to the technologies of various industries, and the personnel that the republic educates, "- shared her impressions Martha Bonifert (Hungary), a member of the International Committee for the Global Energy Prize.
The award ceremony will take place within the framework of the Russian Energy Week, which will be held in Moscow from 13 to 15 October.
