WAIPA 25th World Investment Conference

The 25th international conference of the World Association of Investment and Development Agencies, which was held in a hybrid format at the Expo Dubai 2020, was attended by 23 countries in an offline format.

As part of the conference, a meeting of all members of this organization was held, at which the results of the work over the past two years were discussed (recall that the last meeting was held in 2019 in Warsaw). Representatives of world investment institutions, in particular UNCTAD at the UN, made speeches. They talked about the trends in the economy and about the strategy for the Agencies for the nearest period in the policy of attracting investments.

Also today in Dubai, a vote was held for the new composition of the supervisory board of WAIPA, and new members of this organization were also elected. The head of the Indian Investment Agency, Deepak Bakla, was elected as the new President of the Supervisory Board.

The head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, Taliya Minullina, also took part in the voting to elect new members of its supervisory board.

“We maintain close relationships with all members of the World Association of Investment and Development Agencies. And we are very glad that the ideas of Tatarstan are used in the work of this organization, ”said the head of the Agency.
