The Government of the Russian Federation has increased the list of types of economic activities for investors in territories of advanced socio-economic development (TOR) in single-industry towns.
According to Resolution No. 1179 of July 21, residents will be able to engage in any activity except the production of excisable goods, logging, wholesale and retail trade, financial services, insurance, rental, leasing, and the activities of land, water and air transport companies.
Thus, we are talking about creating equal competitive opportunities for all territories of rapid socio-economic development in single-industry towns.
“The government has expanded the list of types of economic activities available to investors in areas of rapid socio-economic development created in single-industry towns,” says the document on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.
The head of the Tatarstan Agency for Investment Development, Taliya Minullina, also commented on the resolution: “Until this moment, for each of these territories located in single-industry towns, there was a strictly defined list of permitted types of activities. ASEZs are the engine for the development of strategically important areas. This decision will make it possible to attract additional investment in the development of such territories, stimulate the implementation of significant projects, thereby contributing to the growth of well-being of residents of the regions, including our republic.”
To date, five priority development areas have been implemented in the Republic of Tatarstan: Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Chistopol, Zelenodolsk and Mendeleevsk. The main economic activities of investors are now the production of equipment, crop and livestock farming, construction of buildings and activities in the field of sports, recreation and entertainment.
During the entire period of operation of the ASEZ regime in Tatarstan, 129 residents were registered, more than 56 billion rubles were invested and 22,569 jobs were created.
