International economic summit of Russia and OIC countries meets this year its first anniversary.

The day before at the National Agency of Press and Mass Communications "Tatmedia" was held the press conference with the participation of KazanSummit Organizing Committee Chairman, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

V International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2013) will be held in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, on October 2-3. The event is organized by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Non-Profit Fund for Development of Islamic Business and Finance, under the patronage of Tatarstan President.

"Kazan and Tatarstan are the gateway to Russia for investors from the countries of the Islamic world," -noted Linar Yakupov. - KazanSummit, first of all, is an economic platform for the establishment of trade and investment links and contacts. The Persian Gulf, the Middle East and Southeast Asia were the main markets for the goods of the Soviet Union, but since the beginning of the 1990, Russia, unfortunately, went from these markets. KazanSummit is an opportunity to return these markets."

The status of KazanSummit event increases every year and guests, who have confirmed their participation in the anniversary summit, show it. This is the Secretary General of the OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Ahmed Mohammed Ali Al Madani, Malaysian Ambassador Dato Zaynol Abidin Omar, Ambassador of Nigeria, Pakistan, Mexico, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Republic of the Sudan, Palestine and Kazakhstan.

Summit will be attended by a large delegation of the State of Qatar. The Russian participants - the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Federation Federation Council Deputy Chairman Ilyas Umakhanov, RT-Invest CEO Andrew Shipelov. Geography of participants covers 35 countries: the Russian Federation, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Sierra Leone, England, Germany, Italy, China, India, South Korea...

In 2012 KazanSummit got a higher level thanks to the support of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. From the Federation Council this year 10 senators plan to attend KazanSummit.

TIDA Chief Executive told about the program of KazanSummit 2013, presenting a brief announcement of each of the sessions of the summit. It was underscored that traditionally there will be a conference on Islamic economics and finance. On the conference promises to be the presentation of the road map for the development of Islamic finance in Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan, developed by an international company Thomson Reuters with Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

A separate forum will be dedicated to the global trend of the last projects of "smart" cities, in particular, the presentation of a new investment platform of the Republic of Tatarstan - Kazan Smart City. In the session "question and answer" during the conference, reporters asked questions about the implementation of the project, the victory of Kazan Smart City  in the "master plan" in the Russian stage of the international competition for real estate FIABCI Prix d'Excellence. A lot of questions were related to the first objects of the project. Linar Yakupov said that groundbreaking ceremony of Kazan Smart City will be held in the framework of KazanSummit 2013 -in October 2.

In addition to the business part of KazanSummit 2013 program includes a business breakfast, KazanSummit cup, bilateral meetings, meetings B2B.

Linar Yakupov noted that during the summit will open the International Exhibition Euro-Asia Expo 2013, aimed to the successful cooperation between the countries of Europe, Asia and Russia. Among the foreign exhibitors will be companies from Malaysia, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, and UAE.
