“Even a small participation in UN events promotes Tatarstan and the sustainable development of our republic. We spoke about digital development according to SDG No. 9 to the leadership of ESCAP and invited us to Tatarstan. We learned trends in attracting investments in digital from our colleagues from the UN. We continue to work,” comments the head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Taliya Minullina. In Bangkok, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, UNESCAP, the UN RAC event “Regions of Russia and business: ways of cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region in the field of digital innovation for sustainable development” was held. The event provided an opportunity to discuss successes in digitalization at a high international platform in the Asia-Pacific region. Deputy Head of the Agency Marina Epifantseva talked about the achievements in Tatarstan: - the information and communications industry has already reached 3% in GRP and in investments in fixed capital, - 3rd place after Moscow and St. Petersburg in terms of the level of digital maturity of Russian regions, - a state government has been approved program “Digital Tatarstan” 2022 – 2026, and many others. Of course, the Agency told the forum participants about IT platforms in Tatarstan, including Innopolis and IT parks, about the developed industry, including local companies like ICL, and invited them to events, including Kazan Digital Week.
