The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing on May 8, noted the work of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency in preparation for the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum”.

“From May 14 to 19, the VIII Forum of Young Diplomats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries will be held in Kazan - traditionally within the framework of the XV International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2024.”
The Forum of Young Diplomats of the OIC Countries is a unique discussion platform for current young employees of the foreign ministries of the world with the participation of well-known public and political figures, diplomats, government officials, expert and business circles, based on the principles of horizontal diplomacy.
The purpose of the Forum is to promote Russia's foreign policy interests.
Main objectives: development of bilateral and multilateral economic ties between the participating countries, establishment of trusting contacts with young colleagues from the OIC countries, who in the future will determine the foreign policy agenda of their states. The acting director will address the participants with a welcoming speech. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia S.V. Lavrov.
The forum has been held annually since 2016. Over its history, about 250 young diplomats from more than 35 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation took part in it.
The main topic of the meeting will be “Diplomacy of a new multipolar world”; discussions will be devoted to the trends and challenges of modern diplomacy in the context of the formation of a new international security architecture, the work of the International Association of Young Diplomats, and aspects of the field work of professionals. Separately, issues related to technological and humanitarian diplomacy will be addressed.
It is expected that the event will be attended by about 50 representatives of foreign affairs agencies and experts from 23 OIC countries. We separately note that on the sidelines of the Forum there will be a Ceremony of Joining the International Association of Young Diplomats, a meeting of the Kazan Diplomatic Club, and a discussion platform with the participation of students of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University.
The Forum is organized by the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ANO “Academy of Youth Diplomacy” with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.”
