We came for business connections!

28 May 2024, Tuesday

Today, a delegation from the Baltic Business Club visited the TIDA with a business mission. Deputy Head of the Agency Igor Sapunov met with them.

Vitaly Bagamanov, president of the club, highly appreciated the level of equipment of the Unified Presentation Center, as well as the level of preparation of the presentation on the investment potential of the republic and the booklet “Investor’s Guide”.

Residents of the Club are individuals, not related to government authorities, who at the time of joining the Club are owners of different levels of business or top managers of large companies who share the goal and perform the tasks of the Club. Today, BDK is the largest regional business community, which unites 60 residents, is actively working on all tasks and areas of activity, promotes economic development and creates conditions for attracting investment to the region.

The meeting was attended by 24 people from the service sector, construction, real estate, media, agriculture, medicine, insurance, logistics and energy.

The president of the club shared that before the quarantine, their delegation went on business trips on a regular basis, but now they have just begun to return to the usual pace of work and Kazan has become the first city on the way to this. “It was not in vain that we chose Kazan! Now I understand that it is very correct that Kazan became number one on the list,” noted Vitaly Bagamanov.

The meeting was also attended by Marat Akhmatov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. He spoke about close cooperation with the TIDA and announced joint exhibitions that will be held at Kazan EXPO this year.

July 10-12, International specialized exhibition
construction and finishing
materials, technologies and equipment "Stroyka"
December 4-6, metalworking forum “TEMP”

“When entrepreneurs from other regions come to the republic, I am always very pleased with the level of their involvement in the context of the economic life of Tatarstan” - Marat Akhmatov.

Members of the delegation actively asked questions to the deputy head and heads of departments:
1. Expertise of investment projects - Dmitry Alekseev
2. Support and support of investment projects - Olesya Nigmetzyanova
3. Development of public-private partnership - Elina Zhiganova.

Question 1. Alexander Ivanov, owner and general director of the Naturovo agricultural factory.

“We are now on a business mission in Tatarstan. We are looking for new contacts. For Kaliningrad, any work outside the region is already an export. We have always learned either from ourselves or from Europe, since we are surrounded by Lithuania, Poland and the Baltic Sea. Before Covid, our organization traveled a lot and during this time collected a large sample of cutting-edge ideas. And the members of our club have a desire to localize their business in Tatarstan, I will be very glad to receive from the Agency and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry contacts of potential business partners for us in exchange, among other things, for the knowledge that we have collected. The Baltic Business Club has heard very much that the Republic of Tatarstan is ranked number 1 in Russia in many areas. Having accumulated a large database and knowledge, we are ready to transfer the base of business paths here and offer local companies all our accumulated experience. Since there is no point in exporting finished products to the region, it makes more sense to localize production.”

Igor Sapunov supported the club’s intentions and said that the Agency is ready to cooperate with the organization in this direction.

Question 2. Marat Musin, owner and general director of KBS Group LLC, chairman of the SME Committee at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kaliningrad Region.

“We are very impressed with your economic performance!
I was trying to find an analogue of the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation in Tatarstan and then I met you. Tell us what benefits you provide to investors?”

In response, Igor Sapunov spoke about the SEZ, the ASEZ of Tatarstan and listed all the benefits provided by the department. You can find them on the investment portal of the republic: https://invest.tatarstan.ru/ru/investment-standard/#8 and in the booklet “Support Measures” on the Agency’s website: https://tida.tatarstan.ru/razdatochnie -materiali-koll..

Question 3. Igor Kastusik, owner of the “New Pharmacy” and “Pharmacy More than Less” chains.

“Are there any examples of investors who came to Tatarstan from Little Russia?”

Igor Sapunov: Yes there is, first of all these are the immediate surroundings of Tatarstan, for example Tyumen, Samara. Radius 400-500 km from Kazan. Also, Krasnodar (Romex company). The latter shared her impressions of working with the Agency in great detail and enthusiastically at the recently held municipal investment forum.

“Sphere of public-private partnership. What is the interest rate over the life of the project in your area?”

Elina Zhiganova: “The increase in the interest rate did not affect the process of implementing PPP projects. The rate can be either fixed or floating. Each case is individual. First of all, you need to understand the costs for the republic. PPP is a very complex mechanism, be careful.”

Igor Sapunov: “Those concession agreements where there is state support, for example, the Ministry of Sports and Education, are actively developing.”

You can get acquainted with how the republic works in the field of PPP in the booklet “Public-Private Partnership” on the website of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan: https://tida.tatarstan.ru/razdatochnie-materiali-koll..

“If we talk about investors from other regions. What areas and industries should you pay attention to first? So that when they are mentioned, Tatarstan pops up in the businessman’s head.”

Igor Sapunov: “Industrial processing, construction, agriculture, sports, education, IT - these are the areas with which Tatarstan is primarily connected.”
