“Investment hour” with Nizhnekamsk municipal district

29 June 2024, Saturday

The Nizhnekamsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan reported on the implementation of measures to ensure sustainable socio-economic development within the framework of the republican meeting chaired by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

Such meetings are held on a weekly basis in the Government House of the Republic. The report of the city mayor examines the main indicators of the district's activity, the development of industries, the state of entrepreneurship, the level of wages and unemployment, the pace of construction of social infrastructure and housing, education, and achievements in a variety of areas.

The head of the Nizhnekamsk municipal district, Ramil Mullin, recalled that the volume of investments at the end of last year was 154.3 billion rubles, the forecast for the current year is 179.8 billion rubles.

The EP-600 olefin complex is planned to be launched by the end of 2024.

The products of the new complex will also serve as raw materials for another new investment project - the installation of ethylbenzene and styrene, as well as the installation of polystyrene. New production facilities will allow the Russian market to achieve self-sufficiency in two types of synthetic materials at once: polystyrene and ABS plastics.

Also, based on its own technology, the SIBUR company is building hexene production in Nizhnekamsk. There are no production facilities similar to this project in Russia.

Leading positions at the Russian level in terms of efficiency and production technologies are occupied by Nizhnekamsk thermal power plants, which today provide almost a quarter of the total output of the republican energy system.

The industrial hub of Nizhnekamsk was initially created as a single chain of enterprises and production. “It is extremely important for us that large investment projects in large industry lead to the development of medium and small businesses” - the head of the district.

Thus, work is currently underway on the Ethylene 600 industrial park project together with the Alabuga SEZ - this will be the only park in Russia where manufacturers of small- and medium-tonnage chemicals will have direct access to raw materials.

Another example is the Bikotex company - the first and only plant in Russia operating in a full cycle for the production of microfiber - a modern material without which it is difficult to imagine our daily life.

There are 6 industrial parks and 2 industrial parks in the city and region. One of the largest is the Nizhnekamsk industrial park, where 15 residents operate and 368 jobs have been created.

Many residents choose Nizhnekamsk for their projects in terms of logistics convenience. I am sure that a new impetus will be given in the future by the project of the TEMPO company, which plans to build a river cargo terminal in the Nizhnekamsk region.

“Nizhnekamsk is becoming more and more attractive to investors. This was demonstrated by the recent business forum “Leadership Code,” which we held with the support of SIBUR. 400 entrepreneurs from different cities of Russia gathered at one site. New opportunities will open up for our region with the commissioning of the bridge across the Kama and the bypass road as part of the M-7 project. This will be an intensive corridor that will work for the benefit of the economy of Nizhnekamsk and Tatarstan as a whole,” - the head of the district.
