The Investment Development Agency held a meeting with the investor of the Republic of Tatarstan, the AMKOR Group of companies. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as large companies – potential customers of AMKOR Group.
The main issue of the meeting was the issue of concluding an agreement on strategic partnership to create a service center for the repair and maintenance of gas turbine and compressor installations at the facilities of the plant under construction of JSC "Plant of Gas Turbine Equipment", part of Amkor Group, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and large companies in the region of the energy industry.
Nikita Martelov, founder and managing director of the AMKOR Group of companies, told the head of the AIR RT Taliya Minullina about the activities of AMKOR Group in the field of maintenance, configuration, repair of gas turbine installations, about the implementation of the project for the construction of a gas turbine equipment plant, approved at a meeting of the Investment Council in 2023. During the meeting, he shared his intention to organize import-substituting production of components critical for the energy sector on the basis of JSC ZGO.
By 2027, it is planned to implement the plan approved by the company for the phased localization of gas turbine production. The first stage (late 2024 – early 2025) involves the localization of restoration repairs of parts of gas turbine installations, the second stage (from the 2nd quarter of 2025 – the 2nd quarter of 2026) involves the launch of a site for the manufacture of parts of the hot tract (gas turbine blades), and the third stage (2025-2027) – a site for the aggregation of gas turbines with a capacity of 25 and 42 MW, including the test bench.
At the meeting, important issues were discussed regarding the prospects of cooperation between JSC ZGO and large companies of the Republic of Tatarstan operating in the energy production market, and a strategy and tactics for developing interaction between stakeholders were determined.

The technical opening of the first stage of the gas turbine equipment plant is planned for the 3rd quarter of 2024, and the grand opening of the plant in the 2nd quarter of 2025.
