Traditional family spiritual values are a resource for economic development
Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared 2024 the Year of the Family. As part of the Women's View track, speakers presented reports on traditional family, spiritual values, and women's self-realization in the socio-political, economic, and social spheres of activity.
Ekaterina Lakhova, Chairperson of the All-Russian Public-State Organization "Union of Women of Russia", noted the importance of the session topic: "The President told us that family and traditional family values determine the fate of Russia. We say that the family is the oldest social group based on the marriage of a man and a woman. The family connects them with economic, reproductive, and educational activities. Therefore, we must talk about the family all the time and understand that this is the foundation of our state. If there is a stable and successful family, then there will be a stable and strong state."
The Chairperson of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chairperson of the regional branch of the Union of Women of Russia of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chairperson of the Republican public organization "Women of Tatarstan" Zilya Valeeva touched upon the topic of studying the native language: "Let's talk about the nationality of our Republic. The majority are Tatar-Russians. 5-6% of the population, who are indigenous peoples of the Volga region, are newcomers. 175 nationalities live side by side in the Republic. These figures themselves are combined into 42 national and cultural autonomies. It is important to ask the question: what are the opportunities for realizing one's needs in culture, in spiritual development, in preserving one's native language? Today, education in the Republic is a serious area of work. In addition to the state language, which is studied in all schools, there are schools where children are taught the Tatar language. We have 129 schools with an ethnocultural component. Udmurts, Mari, and Mordvins live compactly there. There are 25 departments in Sunday schools that exist under the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan. If there is a need to study the native language, any group of people can come there. The Republic creates all the conditions for this."
Mother of many children, head of the labor protection company OOO Eco Start Albina Khamitova spoke about the capabilities of a modern woman. According to her, since time immemorial, the main role of a woman has been family life and raising children. "But today the modern world shows us other opportunities. It is wonderful that Russia and my beloved Republic give women the opportunity to manifest themselves not only as keeper of the family hearth, but also as business ladies," she said.
The Chairperson of the St. Petersburg regional branch of the Union of Women of Russia Elena Kalinina shared her experience of involving women in the economy and exchanging experience with other countries. According to the speaker, the ability to negotiate is a necessary quality for the development of cooperation, and the mission of the Women's Community is to organize business missions and build a dialogue. "We have concluded a cooperation agreement with the Women's Fund of Uzbekistan "Women of the East". We have not stopped cooperation with the association of business women in Latvia. And our latest achievement is cooperation with the Jordanian-Iraqi Association."
Political scientist, orientalist, lecturer at the Institute of Russian Political Culture Karine Gevorgyan spoke about the importance of women's personal growth in any country using Iran as an example: "Until the 17th century, Iran was developing rapidly. Later, it was decided to instill that Iran was asleep, there was nothing to expect from it. Now the emphasis on traditional spiritual values has become the basis for the modernization of society in accordance with the demands of the time, the demands of the era. The Supreme Leader of Iran asks girls very much, encourages them to personal growth. The country gives them all the opportunities to obtain higher education, provides support and assistance in creating a family."
Member of the Board of TechnoWomen Central Asia, co-founder/CEO of Acvee Finance Ayaulym Ayaganova noted the trend of modern business - to build work on the principles of fairness and honesty. "In order to come to an agreement, we need to have values. This is how all this is laid down in the family. The role of family values is what gives us stability."
President of the Union of Arab Women Investors, Member of the Board of the Association of Investors of the 10th Ramadan and Head of the Committee for International Cooperation Hoda Galal Yassa shared her opinion on the importance of telling her family about her work: “Mothers should instill in their children an understanding of how our society is developing. Sometimes, for the sake of work and family, we must sacrifice something. I sacrificed my time with friends and leisure. At the same time, my family and children inspired me to develop, and now I inspire young mothers and their children to make efforts and develop.”
The Jubilee XV International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024” is being held in Kazan from May 14 to 19. This year, its key theme is “Trust and Cooperation”.
