Experts and financial market players will discuss the development of the experiment on the introduction of Islamic banking and the Islamic economy, as well as difficulties and problems in the implementation of the project, current issues, initiatives and legislative changes.

Islamic finance is one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the global economy, attracting billions of dollars in investments. The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the regions of Russia that are actively developing this area.

From September 1, 2023 to September 1, 2025, an experiment on Islamic (partner) financing products is being conducted in four regions of Russia: Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Dagestan and Chechnya. In the summer of 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law extending the experiment until September 1, 2028.

The first workshop in Kazan was held on November 15, 2023 and showed a high interest in this topic, both from the public and from financial organizations.

The workshop on Islamic (partner) financing products will be held on September 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the building of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan at 11 Agronomicheskaya str., Kazan.

Representatives of the branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, market participants and the Islamic clergy are invited to the meeting. The meeting is organized by the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"We meet every year to compare watches. Participants in the experiment on Islamic finance consider the Agency to be an effective platform for exchanging views on the need to finalize legislation and discuss interim results," said Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.
