Today, the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, Taliya Minullina, took part in the opening of a new investment project in Zelenodolsk district. A high-tech plant for the production and repair of gas turbine equipment has started operating at the site of the new Turbina Industrial Park. The project was implemented by AMKOR Group in record time – less than two years passed from the moment of approval at the Investment Council of the Republic of Tatarstan in June 2023 to the launch of the first stage of production.
The new company is equipped with equipment unique to Russia, including laser surfacing, 3D scanning complexes and its own nondestructive testing laboratory. The plant's capacity allows for a full cycle of work, from restoration to the production of critical components of the "hot path" for Siemens and General Electric turbines. The plant became the first anchor resident of the Turbina industrial park, with investments of almost 1 billion rubles. In total, more than 220 jobs will be created here. As of today, agreements have been concluded with 8 residents.
As part of the implementation of the Federal project "New Equipment and Technologies in the Electric Power Industry", a 2.5 MW gas turbine will be localized. A memorandum was signed with the largest producer of gas turbine installations in Asia. If there is an anchor order, the first fully localized turbine powered by a methane-hydrogen mixture will be produced by the end of 2027.
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, noted the strategic importance of the new enterprise for the economy of the republic and the country as a whole. "This is not just a factory, but a center of used technologies for the restoration and future creation of gas machines. We see great prospects here," said the Rais of Tatarstan.
