The Agency and AAOIFI are building a partnership in the field of Islamic finance
Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, held a meeting with the head of the AAOIFI Representative Center in Kazan, an international organization that develops standards for Islamic (partner) financial institutions.
The parties discussed the development of partnership financing in Tatarstan: the formation of a strategy, the introduction of international standards and the preparation of projects that can be implemented in the near future. Special attention was paid to the instruments of Islamic bonds (sukuk) and the possible participation of the Islamic Development Bank and partners from the CIS countries in their issuance. An event dedicated to this topic is planned.
The Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan is acting as the coordinator of this work in the republic: it helps to build cooperation with international institutions, forms a pool of potential projects and prepares a platform for the further development of Islamic finance in the republic, including within the framework of the upcoming KazanForum.
