On March 25, 2026, a business seminar "How to do business with India" was held in Kazan, dedicated to practical issues of Russian companies entering the Indian market and developing bilateral cooperation.
The venue of the event was the Kazan Palace by TASIGO Hotel, organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of India in Kazan and the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Russian Federation with the support of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The seminar brought together representatives of government authorities, business associations, the banking sector, industry and the business community of Russia and India.
The discussion focused on specific tools for working with Indian partners: the search and verification of counterparties, building logistics, financial calculations, localization of production, as well as participation in industrial clusters in India.
The seminar program included 7 thematic sessions covering key areas of cooperation: from market entry mechanisms and industrial cooperation to the agro-industrial complex, the textile industry, pharmaceuticals, green mobility and human capital development.
Opening the seminar, Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, emphasized the strategic importance of the Indian direction: "India today is one of the most dynamically developing economies in the world with a huge domestic market and steady growth. At the same time, our entrepreneurs are not yet fully exploiting this potential. Such seminars are an opportunity to move from general interest to specific projects, establish direct contacts and form a practical basis for long-term cooperation."
According to the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and India reached about $ 400 million by the end of 2025, showing growth, but the potential for interaction is much higher.
Consul General of India in Kazan, Jasundhar D., noted that the opening of a diplomatic mission is already yielding practical results for business: "The opening of the Consulate General of India in Kazan has become an important step towards strengthening ties with the regions of Russia. We are already seeing an increase in business activity, an increase in the number of contacts between companies and interest in joint projects. Our goal is to make cooperation as convenient and understandable as possible for businesses in both countries."
The seminar became part of the systematic work on the development of the Russian-Indian partnership and the continuation of the business agenda of the forum "TIME: Russia - India. Mutual Efficiency", confirming the high business interest in the Indian market and willingness to launch joint projects.
