Business program of Tatarstan’s delegation visit in China started today with a visit to areas of innovation and economic development in Urumqi, created in 1992 by order of the China State Council, located in Urumqi.
The delegation of the region includes the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on international activities Radik Gimatdinov, JSC «Tatneft» CEO Nail Maganov, JSC «TAIF» Board of Directors Chairman Rustem Sulteev, JSC «Tatneftekhiminvest-holding» CEO Raffinat Yarullin and Chairman of Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Ageev.
The total planned area of Urumqi innovation and economic development zone will be 480 square kilometers, including area for industrial enterprises, which will be 133 square kilometers.
For resident companies here are tax preferences and the entire necessary infrastructure. In addition to this constructs the housing buildings – by 2016 are planned to obtain 2.6 million square meters of housing. Also on the site is planned to build the station for high-speed trains: the distance from Urumqi to Beijing passengers will overcome in 12 hours at a speed of 300 km/h.
Spheres of production of Urumqi innovative and economic development zone are very diverse: metallurgy, electric power, food processing, electronics and medical equipment, machinery. Total in area is about 358 medium and large enterprises. The most well-known companies that is present in the zone - Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Heineken. In 2012 the total investment has exceeded 40 billion yuan (6.6 billion dollars).
For the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the region’s delegation was made a presentation of the region’s area, presented the resident companies’ products, demonstrated a system of registration and documentation on the principle of «one window». Rustam Minnikhanov, expressing interest in implementation of special economic zone, ordered to Tatarstan Investment Development Agency to examine the experience of the Chinese colleagues.
