Rustam Minnikhanov offers to host the meeting of Tatarstan-Turkmen Working Group on areas of cooperation in Kazan
Trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between the parties discussed during the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan.
At a bilateral meeting with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Mr. Minnikhanov expressed confidence that the visit of Tatarstan delegation will promote further development of relations between the parties in various fields.
In a more extended composition – with the participation of Tatarstan’s profile companies – were presented opportunities for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan in the fields of engineering, aviation, shipbuilding and petrochemical industries.
Welcoming the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted mutual interest in cooperation in sectors such as energy and petrochemicals. He also underscored that Turkmenistan is interested in expanding cooperation on supplying to Turkmenistan products and services of such companies as «KAMAZ», JSC «Tatneft», JSC «Kazan Helicopter Plant». Turkmenistan President underscored sphere of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to study at universities in the Republic of Tatarstan of Turkmen students.
Mr. Minnikhanov in response emphasized the importance of maintaining relations in this area, noting that currently Kazan Technological University (KNITU), with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation is considering opening a representative office in Ashgabat. Tatarstan President also proposed to hold a meeting of Tatarstan-Turkmen working group on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation in Kazan.
In conclusion of the meeting were signed twinning agreement, strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between Almetjevsk and Balkanabad and Cooperation Agreement between the Chambers of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.
