The Tatarstan Investment Development Agency is fully aware of the current international challenges and its potentially adverse implications for cross-border business cooperation. Our mission is to help you disclose the best option to fend off obstacles and capitalize on ever-changing conditions. Russia is apparently heading towards more self-sufficient economy based on local production. Foreign companies are welcome like never before to take part in this development direction.

The localization of production has proven to be the most resilient and profitable approach in the Russian market. While importers may face insecure environment, those who have decided to localize the production in Russia are gaining nowadays.  We believe that localization is the solution to avoid political risks by being closer to one of the largest and dynamically developing consumer´s market in Europe. Our agency is determined to guide you when moving to Tatarstan.

EY, PwC, and Forbes have all recognized Tatarstan as one of the best regions in Russia for doing business. One way in which Tatarstan has distinguished itself from other regions of Russia is the emphasis it has placed on creating the necessary infrastructure to support and attract foreign capital.

Agriculture & food processing is our priority sector where the potential gains from localization of production are highest due to the recent ban of agriculture products from the Western countries. Tatarstan has well-developed agriculture sector and favorable climate conditions. The agricultural industry accounts for 7.1% of gross regional product and employs 10% of the population.

Machinery & automotive industry is also on the top of our priority list. Kamaz truck production plant in Naberzhenye Chelny cooperating with Mercedes-Benz in the framework of Kama Industrial Park Master and a joint-venture of FordSollers in the Special Economic Zone Alabuga are the most significant examples we are proud of.

Another priority sectors is medicine & pharmaceuticals. On the territory of our republic you can find some of the best educational institutions and several foreign multinationals who have invested in either green field projects or partnership with local companies and/or institutions. Kazan State Federal University, Czech company Favea with expertise in medical facilities design and construction, Finnish fertility clinic AVA Kazan, and public-private partnership between Kazan Center of High Medical Technologies and Johnson & Johnson are among the most successful stories.
