Tatarstan creates optoelectronic engineering center

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina met with the "Schwabe" CEO ("Rostec") Sergey Maksin. At the meeting discussed the project of creating optoelectronic engineering center - "Schwabe" City of Science in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The main objective of the project is to create modern products based on advanced optoelectronic technologies - thermal channels, opto-electronic modules and devices for optical and opto-electronic systems. To prepare highly qualified specialists of the center is planned to open technical university with modular programs, as well as a boarding school for gifted children. The project was presented to the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the House of the Government of Tatarstan. Head of the Republic estimated it as "an important and actual on a national scale", especially in the context of the policy of import substitution and strengthening the defense.
