The first in Russia and the "cool" factory producing FordSollers automobile engines in Tatarstan

Today on the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga" Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has started the work of Russia's first plant for production of FordSollers automobile engines.Up to this point motors for cars were delivered from abroad.The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina, FordSollers PresidentMark Ovenden and SEZ "Alabuga" CEO Timur Shagivaleev.Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that he was glad that the FordSollers project developes in Tatarstan. Competitive products that are manufactured in Tatarstan will find their place in the market, and the republic will create better conditions for the production, said the leader of the republic.Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullinasaid “cool” about an opening of the new factory:"Tatarstan has successfully implements the federal task of the localization and development of the industry, including through foreign investment.Opening of a new factory today is cool, because we are creating another world brand modern production in Russia and the suppliers are local producers. It will strength the economic power of the whole country.Here are specific examples: the new plant will increase the level of localization of domestically produced Ford vehicles to 45% and this will happen in 2015. Russian companies such as JSC "Volga motor plant" and "GAZ Group" will supply the main components for engines (cylinder block, crankshaft, block head), spark plugs to be used with Russian Bosch factory and engine oil supplies "Lukoil".$ 275 million in Tatarstan - is certainly cool".The entire volume ofengines produced at the plant in "Alabuga" will be supplied for Ford cars, manufactured at the Russian factories ofFordSollers joint venture. The first produced model was the engine gasoline engine 1,6 Ti-VCT Sigma - in different versions it develops the capacity of 85, 105 and 125 horsepower. This modification will be equipped on not less than 30% of Ford cars produced in Russia - Focus, EcoSport, Fiesta models.In the first phase production capacity will be 105,000 engines per year, with the possibility of increasing to 200 thousand per year.The amount of investment in new production was $ 275 million, the factory created 200 jobs, and, according to FordSollers representatives, 95 percent of the plant's employees are residents of Yelabuga region and Naberezhnye Chelny, many of them have been trained at Ford factories abroad.Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov said that today's event is an indicator of investment attractiveness of Tatarstan, and at the same time is the result of a collaborative effort of investors, management of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.
The meeting of the 2025 Investors Club has ended in Kazan. The meeting took place in the Sapphire Conference Hall of the Noble Millenium Panorama 5* Hotel. The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, members of the Government of the Republic, heads of enterprises and businessmen, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps of China, India, Turkey and other countries.
On December 19, Kazan will host the annual meeting of the Investor Club, during which the winner in the Investor of the Year nomination will be determined. The award will be presented to the best by Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.
