The briefing in the Cabinet: TIDA opens a representative office in China, and the proportion of Tatarstan-Chinese Investment Fund

TIDA Chief Executive Taliya Minullina at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan told about the results of the working visit of Tatarstan delegation headed by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Japan, China and the Republic of Turkey in October 2015.

"The Agency will increase its capacity. Representatives of Tatarstan (Plenipotentiary, Permanent, Economic and Trade) perform a large number of tasks; their work is coordinated by the Ministry of Industry, including supply of equipment, goods and services from Tatarstan in foreign markets. The primary task of TIDA today - is to attract investment to our republic", - said Taliya Minnullina.
TIDA Chief Executive emphasized that for this purpose, a representative office in Chengdu (Sichuan Province), will focus on attracting investment in Tatarstan. "Now we carry out the selection of candidates for the position of our representative, who will be there all the time, contribute to the development of business relations", - said Taliya Minullina.
Head of the Agency has described some aspects of the functioning of Tatarstan-China agroindustry development fund (Tatarstan-Chinese agroindustry investment fund), the agreement on creation of which was signed on October 12 in Harbin: 90 percent of the "pool" will be the Chinese capital, 10 - Tatarstan.
Also on the "Day of Russian regions" in Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair (the Russian-Chinese Expo 2015) (China) held a presentation of trade-economic and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan for the business circles of Russia, China and the Asia-Pacific region. A meeting with the leadership of the Gunda corporation was held.
Meetings were held with the leadership and business of Sichuan and Heilongjiang.
Japan: high technologies and "smart" city
In Japan (October 4-5), the representatives of the Tatarstan delegation participated in the annual international forum "Science and technology in society", which was held in Kyoto.
"We believe that this forum is very important for Tatarstan, here you can have a large number of contacts, and this visit has shown that. The following year we also plan to take part in the forum", - said TIDA Chief Executive.
As part of the working program in Japan, members of the Tatarstan delegation took part in the Russian-Japanese Advisory Council on modernizing the economy (the next meeting may be hold in Kazan), visited the "Smart City Fujisawa", which experience will be used in Innopolis and Kazan Smart City projects.
President Rustam Minnikhanov met in Kyoto with the president and chief operating officer of the company "Yokogawa Electric" Takashi Nishijima. There was signed a protocol of intent between Tatarstan and "Yokogawa Electric", which will determine the areas of cooperation for the next three years.
The delegation met with the leadership of companies "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries" and "Sojitz Corporation". "These companies are involved in a major project - construction of the "Ammonium" complex in Tatarstan. The volume of investment in this project amounts to more than 1.6 billion dollars. Tatarstan President instructed to form a working group for elaboration of the issue of the second stage of the "Ammonium" project. With these partners we are trying to reach new agreements", - said TIDA Chief Executive.
Turkey: experience in the industrial center of the country and projects
During the visit to the Republic of Turkey (14-15 October) was held the presentation of investment potential of Tatarstan for businesses province of Kocaeli - Turkey's industrial center, meetings within the international conference «Match4Industry Business Matching Event». Representatives of Tatarstan got acquainted with the GOSB Organized Industrial Zone in the municipality of Gebze. An agreement on twinning between Tyulyachinskiy municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Municipality of Gebze of Kocaeli province, and the Agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chamber of Kocaeli was signed.
A number of projects in Tatarstan - the creation of a children's rehabilitation center in Kazan, the invitation of the management company to one of the industrial sites of Tatarstan has been worked out.
"25 percent of foreign investment in Tatarstan comes from Turkey, whose strategy - to invest in other countries is in line with our interests, and we will continue to work closely in all directions", - concluded Taliya Minullina.
On the profile results also told Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleev and Deputy Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Bulat Khaziakhmetov.
