Today on the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga" Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has started the work of Russia's first plant for production of FordSollers automobile engines.

Up to this point motors for cars were delivered from abroad.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina, FordSollers President Mark Ovenden and SEZ "Alabuga" CEO Timur Shagivaleev.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that he was glad that the FordSollers project developes in Tatarstan. Competitive products that are manufactured in Tatarstan will find their place in the market, and the republic will create better conditions for the production, said the leader of the republic.

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina said “cool” about an opening of the new factory:

"Tatarstan has successfully implements the federal task of the localization and development of the industry, including through foreign investment.

Opening of a new factory today is cool, because we are creating another world brand modern production in Russia and the suppliers are local producers. It will strength the economic power of the whole country.

Here are specific examples: the new plant will increase the level of localization of domestically produced Ford vehicles to 45% and this will happen in 2015. Russian companies such as JSC "Volga motor plant" and "GAZ Group" will supply the main components for engines (cylinder block, crankshaft, block head), spark plugs to be used with Russian Bosch factory and engine oil supplies "Lukoil".

$ 275 million in Tatarstan - is certainly cool".

The entire volume of engines produced at the plant in "Alabuga" will be supplied for Ford cars, manufactured at the Russian factories of FordSollers joint venture. The first produced model was the engine gasoline engine 1,6 Ti-VCT Sigma - in different versions it develops the capacity of 85, 105 and 125 horsepower. This modification will be equipped on not less than 30% of Ford cars produced in Russia - Focus, EcoSport, Fiesta models.

In the first phase production capacity will be 105,000 engines per year, with the possibility of increasing to 200 thousand per year.

The amount of investment in new production was $ 275 million, the factory created 200 jobs, and, according to FordSollers representatives, 95 percent of the plant's employees are residents of Yelabuga region and Naberezhnye Chelny, many of them have been trained at Ford factories abroad.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov said that today's event is an indicator of investment attractiveness of Tatarstan, and at the same time is the result of a collaborative effort of investors, management of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today, on September 2 in the meeting room of the Cabinet of Ministers the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Russian Federation Emilio Lozada Garcia and President of the Cuban Aviation Corporation (CACSA), Major General Ramon Martinez Echevarria.

The event was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Tatarstan Export Corporation" Taliya Minullina.

Today, September 2, 2015 at the exhibition center "Kazan Fair" opened Tatarstan oil and gas chemical forum with the participation of Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The event is attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.

On the forum the member of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan held a series of meetings, in particular with representatives of the Gund Harbin Corporation and the Turkish Foundation of plastics production (PAGEV).

The Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Sheikh Hamad bin Ibrahim Al Khalif (Kingdom of Bahrain) on Republic Day. The meeting was held in the meeting room of the "Kazan" International equestrian complex. The event was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina.

Sheikh arrived in Tatarstan on Friday, August 28.

On the meeting, which took place on the Republic Day, Rustam Minnikhanov told about the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan, has expressed the wish to develop further cooperation, increase trade and strengthen existing contacts in various fields, including in the field of investment. Rustam Minnikhanov, on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, leads the Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World". He noted the strategic nature of relations with the Arab and Muslim world.

The importance of strengthening further mutually beneficial cooperation also was emphasized by Mr. Al-Khalif.

A delegation of Komi Investment Development Agency is on a working visit in Tatarstan on August 27-28. The goal is to study the experience of Tatarstan on working with investor in a "single window" regime, visiting of investment infrastructure and an exchange of experience. The program is prepared by TIDA.

"In the XXI century you build entire cities-objects of investment infrastructure, and that says a lot", - said Komi Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Dmitriy Popov at a meeting in Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. In particular, they talked about Innopolis. During the meeting, TIDA officials told about the experience of interaction with investors, projects maintenance, creating of a new investment portal of the Republic of Tatarstan, public-private partnership.

Dmitriy Popov also noted that investment and economic experience of Tatarstan is of great interest to the northwest region of Russia, he reported on the activities of Komi Investment Development Agency, which is the executive body and was established in November 2014.

At the meeting it was agreed to prepare an agreement on cooperation between the departments.

In addition, Komi IDA employees on 27 and 28 August visited the facilities of investment infrastructure in Tatarstan.

In particular, the delegation got acquainted with the work of the industrial park M-7 in Zelenodolsk region of Tatarstan, which in July officially became the new accredited object of investment infrastructure of Tatarstan and on August it was officially approved. The main profile is the processing of polymers, mechanical engineering, metal processing, building materials. To date, the industrial park is filled with more than 60%, annual revenue of the residents is more than 15 thousand rubles per 1 hectare and tax revenue from the area activity for 2014-2015 amounted to 29 million rubles.

Representatives of Komi IDA acquainted with the production of the main residents of the industrial park - the plant "Volzhanin", which is engaged in manufacturing of welding equipment for plastic pipes and the plant "MultiPlast" whose profile is the production of terrace boards and front panels made of wood-polymer composite under the famous brand “MultiDeck”.

Park is also presents a big interest to a large number of companies from foreign countries. The object is working closely with TIDA.

Alexei Miller got acquainted with investment-cases that have a high potential of production localization and innovation component, and whose products are of interest to the Eurasian oil and gas giant. It is about plants of the 3M and Dizayn Grup (part of the Mir Holding) companies.

World famous brands factories operate in the SEZ "Alabuga", projects have been successfully implemented through the "single window" - Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

 

3M: a unique covering for Gazprom

About 3M technologies told Top manager of the Russian 3M Petr Korotkov. In particular, it is about restoring the corrosion protection of pipelines in field conditions (two-component protective covering Scotchkote® 352HT, lifetime - 30 years) and internal smooth coating 3M Scotchkote 2306SF, among the advantages of which - when applying high environmental friendliness, the complete absence of solvent vapors, the minimum material consumption, reducing cost of storage and transportation of material, saving on equipment (no need for equipment to burn a solvent, no need polymerization ovens).

The sides noted the importance of the company's efforts, aimed at localizing the production of previously imported goods into the territory of Tatarstan.

It should be noted that in June of this year, the first production line of 3M has been certified in accordance with the criteria of PJSC "Gazprom" and is fully prepared to supply products for the needs of enterprises of petrochemical complex. 3M Anti-corrosion coverings are already used in the construction of pipelines "Power of Siberia", "Turkish Stream", "Central Asia-China", and cooperation will be strengthened.

Turkish holding: universal and protected pipe

About "Mir Holding" and "Dizayn Grup" said the Head of Turkish holding to localize the production of plastic pipes in Tatarstan Ibrahim Mirmahmutoğulları. Alexei Miller has expressed interest in high-tech products of the Turkish company and instructed to study the mechanism of cooperation with Tatarstan manufacturer.

"The opening of the plant is planned for the current year. Total capitalization is 28 million dollar. Foreign direct investment in the first phase will amount to 12 million dollar, will be created 88 jobs. Payback period - from 4 to 7 years, that is a very good indicator for an investment project", - said TIDA Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.

It is expected that the list of produced products will include continuous fiber-reinforced composite pipes, - "Dizayn RTP”.

They have a number of advantages: it is a high compressive strength, high corrosion resistance, smooth inner surface (lower costs for injection) and flexibility. Due to these properties composite pipes are sufficiently versatile and suitable for the transportation of water, oil, natural gas, chemicals, and require virtually no maintenance: there is a 50 years guarantee of maintenance-free operation.

These high-tech products are likely to be in demand for the implementation of important international projects.

This was stated by Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov during the ceremony of "restart" of the construction of Drylock Technologies plant in the SEZ "Alabuga".

"Together we will not only build the plant, but also to promote this product in the market, which will be produced in our country. Therefore, we thank our partners for the resumption of the construction", - said Rustam Minnikhanov.

In turn, President of Drylock Technologies Bart Van Mulder said: "I am delighted to be back here, glad to resume the construction of our plant. Our goal – is to organize the world-class production here. We focus on working with Tatarstan, on the production of qualitative products".

On the economic performance of the project has told the TIDA Chief Executive Taliya Minullina: "Investment in the project will amount to about 40 million euros, the payback period - from 7 to 10 years, will be created about 350 jobs. More than 140 million pieces of products per month will be produced on 14 production lines".

Taliya Minullina also emphasized that this is a project of import substitution, which is aimed at both the sale of products in the Russian Federation and an export to foreign countries.

The plant will produce hygiene products: absorbent underwear, diapers and special facilities for people with urological diseases.

As part of the event also held a meeting of company’s management with potential suppliers of raw materials for the new plant.

The Belgian company "Draylok Technologies" – is one of the leading manufacturers of hygiene products in Europe. The company is been working since 1979.

The subsidiary was granted the status of a resident of the SEZ "Alabuga" in March 2013. From III quarter of 2013 till the III quarter of 2014 were carried out to preparations of the land, was completed foundation work, but later construction of the facility has been suspended - as stated, due to difficulties with financing.

Construction resumed on 27 August 2015.

Today in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan held a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC "Tatneftekhiminvest-holding", chaired by Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina, a member of the Board of directors of the company.

At the event were presented projects based on high technologies, including from a number of regions of the Russian Federation.

Thus, the company representatives made a presentation of the unique water-soluble polymer that can strengthen the capacity of petrochemical complex of Tatarstan. Also, to the members of the collegial executive body of the holding have been shown the developments of a new lighting equipment and mobile facilities for the production of sulfur concrete.

Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan instructed to study the issue of the production and use in Tatarstan of presented products on the basis of an analysis of perspective markets.

In addition, was discussed the preparation for the exhibition "Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals", "Eco-technologies and equipment of the XXI century", "Interplastica. Kazan" and "GEO-Kazan: Exploration.
