Meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba

Today, on September 2 in the meeting room of the Cabinet of Ministers the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Russian Federation Emilio Lozada Garcia and President of the Cuban Aviation Corporation (CACSA), Major General Ramon Martinez Echevarria.

The event was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Tatarstan Export Corporation" Taliya Minullina.

The sides discussed wide range of issues of cooperation of Cuba and Tatarstan within the Russian-Cuban relations, including the prospects and mechanisms of cooperation in the fields of industry, education, medicine.

Cuba is one of the important trade partners of Tatarstan in Latin America. In particular, Cuba buys helicopters and medicines, produced in Tatarstan. Products are sold with the assistance of the Tatarstan Export Corporation.

In April this year a delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Cuba,C-chairman of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz visited Tatarstan.

In November 2014 Tatarstan delegation, which included TIDA Chief Executive, visited Liberty Island in order to participate in the opening of the Russian exposition, the Day of Russia in the 32th International Fair of Havana FIHAV and negotiations with members of the Government of a friendly Latin American country.
