2nd Annual Conference of Business Owners Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Doha, Qatar, 4-5 December 2011

The Annual Conference of Business Owners Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be held in Doha, Qatar on December 4-5, 2011.The Conference is an exclusive forum for entrepreneurs, corporate and government leaders from the 56 member OIC member countries, to meet, invest, influence and to shape the business, technological and political landscapes of today and tomorrow.

This year's event is being hosted by the Government of Qatar in close collaboration with the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the Distinguished Patronge of the Prime Minister of Qatar, His Excellency, Sheikh Hamed bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani. High dignitaries from member countries of the OIC, including the Secretary-General of the OIC, President of the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, President, Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jeddah and Ministers of Commerce and Chairmen of Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Trade Associations and Clubs are to grace the occasion.Through a series of animated keynotes, panel discussions and plenary sessions, there will be presentations of innovative growth companies and organized one-on-one (B2B) meetings between investors and entrepreneurs who have feasible projects, and with decision makers in construction, services, and banks to build relationships with investors who are looking to expand their business. Sector specific sessions will be held on the following topics: Energy, Oil, Gas and Renewables, ICT and Telecommunications, ICT, Agriculture, Food and Beverage, Manufacturing, the Creative Industries, Maritime Industries and Tourism/Leisure Industries. In addition to the launching of the largest Business Portal of businessmen and women in the Islamic World, this year's event will attract an estimated 1500 participants comprising business leaders, investors and government officials from over 40 countries.

About the BOU

The Business Owners Union of the OIC was established in 2008. The mission of the BOU which currently has chapters in over 40 countries is to encourage trade and investment exchanges among business owners, members of the Chambers of Commerce, associations, clubs and business organizations in Islamic States. It has among its objectives, to strengthen acquaintances and communication among business owners of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and to contribute to the economic development of Muslim Countries by promoting business and investment opportunities and agencies of member companies.
