Meeting With Dato’ Professor Dr. Sudin Haron

Today representatives of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency met with Dato’ Professor Dr. Sudin Haron. Dr. Sudin is one of the world’s renowned and respected scholars in banking and finance, as well as in business and management. Professor Sudin shared the experience of Malaysia in the sphere of SME support and development. He claimed that the structure and the assistance to entrepreneurship development in Malaysian had changed dramatically over the last twenty years. Also he pointed out that Malaysia today is one of the most rapidly developing countries in developing small and medium enterprises. Similarly, financial assistance to SME has taken a new dimension that involves all spectrum of SME financing needs as well as delivering channels.

Representatives of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency had an opportunity to discuss Malaysian mechanisms of attracting investments and the ways of supporting SME that can be applied in the Republic of Tatarstan. Furthermore, Dr. Sudin emphasized the importance of education and human capital quality improvement in economic progress of every country.

Dato’ Professor Dr. Sudin Haron is the President of Kuala Lumpur Business School and Chairman of CIFP Consultants Sdn Bhd. He has published more than 10 books and 70 articles in international journals. He was attached with the Central Bank of Malaysia as a Specialist at the Islamic banking and takaful department. In 2006, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive of International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance. Currently he has been appointed by the Malaysian Government to be a member of Malaysian Awqaf Foundation.
