First Day of KAZANSUMMIT 2012

KAZANSUMMIT 2012 gathered together representatives of such countries as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Algeria, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sudan, Morocco and others. Summit, the main aim of which is to promote economic cooperation of Russia and the OIC member countries, is a reliable platform to explore the investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan and other regions of Russia, business and perspective investment opportunities.

Among the Summit’s guest there are Hameed Opeloyeru, assistant secretary-general of economic affairs at the OIC, AL SALEH Abdullah Ahmed, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of the UAE, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov and others.

A strategic forum was held on the first day of the summit, which was devoted to the discussion of economic, trade and investment cooperation of the Russian regions and the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Within the forum an agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Fund for Direct Investment and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives was signed.

Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance became one of the most significant activities of KAZANSUMMIT 2012. High profile experts discussed the development trends of Islamic finance.

At the end of the first day the participants of KAZANSUMMIT 2012 had an opportunity to enjoy KAZANSUMMIT Horse Racing Cup.
