The international agency "Moody's Investors Service" raised the rating of Tatarstan to Ba1 with a stable prediction. According to experts, this is a positive sign for investors.
Moody's analysts note that the assignment of a higher rating reflects a decrease in the risks for investors who provide debt financing to the republic as well as the companies which are in state ownership. This applies to Svyazinvestneftekhim, which was upgraded from Ba2 to Ba1, and Tatneft (from Baa3 to Baa2).
The ratings of regions and a number of state-owned companies are revised after the change of the sovereign rating of the country. Having become the owner of an investment rating from all three leading international rating agencies, Russia's forecast has been changed from "positive" to "stable" and indicates a reduction in the country's vulnerability to external shocks, including new sanctions.
