Tatarstan returned with projects
On June 11, at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, Taliya Minullina, the Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, spoke about the results of participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum events.
One of the forum’s main results expressed in figures is the number of documented agreements. In total, Tatarstan signed 31 agreements on the implementation of investment projects. One of the largest projects is the construction of the Haier washing machines “smart plant” in Naberezhnye Chelny.
- A whole industrial park is planned in the motor city. It will include 12 “smart” productions of equipment and electronics. At the same time, the trans-Kama region suffers from the staff shortage. The “Smart Plant” assumes the minimum number of employees, – told Taliya Minullina about the project.
A number of agreements signed at the forum offers the republic prospects of major infrastructure projects. OZON, the Russian online retailer, is going to invest 1 billion rubles in the construction of a logistics center in the Zelenodolsky district of Tatarstan. The project will provide 500 new jobs. Another 350 jobs in the district will be created as a result of construction of a distribution center with an area of 40 thousand square meters by X5 Retail Group. The cost of the project is 1.275 billion rubles. The company will invest another 1 billion rubles in the construction of a similar center, but with an area of 76.5 thousand square meters (150 jobs), in the Yelabuzhsky district of the republic.
One of the main reputation victories of the forum for Tatarstan was the increase in the position of the republic (from 3rd place to 2nd) in the National Investment Climate Index.
- Tatarstan is steadily in the lead: for 5 years we have made the top three. Today, the republic offers the best investment conditions. Within its territory there are 85 industrial parks, 5 Priority Social and Economic Development Areas, 2 Special Economic Zones. In 2019, the number of residents of Alabuga SEZ will increase again.
This summer and autumn, 5 new enterprises will open in the Yelabuga special economic zone. They include the Plant-Protecting Agent Producer “Aavgust-Alabuga” (investments – 3.5 billion rubles, jobs – 320), Technonikol’s One Component Polyurethane Foam Plant (investments – 528 million rubles, jobs – 142), the one in Russia, Transneft Sintez’s production of anti-turbulent additives (investments – 1.6 billion rubles, jobs – 234), the company engaged in growing cultured mushrooms (investments – 1 billion rubles, jobs – 165), the second line of Hayat Kimya’s tissue mill (investments – more than 3 billion rubles, new jobs – 120). It is noteworthy that orders for the company products are placed for several months ahead.
Taliya Minullina told about two innovative initiatives – the construction of IBM’s new data center in Tatarstan and participation of the Higher School of Economics (Moscow) as an intellectual partner in holding the TCI Network Global Conference in Kazan. The Tatarstan’s application contained the 3C concept – “City/Collaboration/Creation”.
