«Investment Opportunities in Tatarstan» Investment Forum, London
Today, Tatarstan delegation headed by President of the republic Rustam Minikhanov participated in «Investment Opportunities in Tatarstan» investment forum, which was held in London, Great Britain. The President was accompanied by Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, Board Chairman of JSC Ak bars Bank Robert Minnegaliev, Director General of Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev, Aide to the Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Airat Nurutdinov and others. The event was organized by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency in partnership with CNBC Creative Solutions.
The forum was held within a large scale PR campaign, entitled INVEST in TATARSTAN, which is aimed to promote the Republic of Tatarstan as an attractive investment destination and a number-one gateway to Russia and the CIS countries.
The event gathered together over 150 representatives of the world business community, heads of major international companies, banks and investment funds.
Within the forum Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov made a presentation on investment opportunities in Tatarstan. CEO of Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev presented main activities of the economic zone. Moreover, Director on strategic projects of Air Liquide Russia Dmitry Kuznetsov shared the company’s experience of working in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. Also, SMART City Kazan, a unique project for the whole Russia, was presented within the event.
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov participated in a panel discussion and Q & A session along with other FDI specialists and business thought leaders with a focus on Tatarstan, Russia and the Emerging Markets. Investing in the emerging markets, economic development of Russia and Tatarstan, Russia’s entry into the WTO, the importance of a highly qualified workforce, infrastructure development and other topics were discussed by the participants of the panel discussion.
The most breathtaking and interesting highlights of the event, including the interview with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, were broadcasted by CNBC worldwide.
Also, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Great Britain Aleksandr Yakovenko, compatriots and students living in the UK, Chairman of Russian-British Chamber of Commerce Roger Munnings, Chairman of the Board of the Knightsbridge Group Armen Sargsyan, Country Managing Partner at PwC Russia David Gray and others. Furthermore, Tatarstan delegation visited the House of Lords and the “smart” exhibition center of Siemens THE CRYSTAL.
Moreover, an Agreement on cooperation between Siemens AG and the Republic of Tatarstan, a MoU between Tatarstan Development Corporation and Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions (UAE) on the implementation of International Convention and Exhibition Centre within the SMART City Kazan project were signed within the forum.
To wrap up the FDI push of 2012, Kazan will host a final forum of the current year - INVEST IN TATARSTAN 2012 - within the INVEST in TATARSTAN PR campaign, in early December.
