Today TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov met with a Vietnamese delegation headed by Pham Xuan Son, Vietnam Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
The Vietnamese guests noted that Tatarstan and Vietnam have a long history of collaboration. “We must make good use of the potential of our respective republics to strengthen the yield of our collaborative efforts and future partnership. We will encourage our Vietnamese entrepreneurs and investors to find partnership opportunities within your republic,” declared Pham Xuan Son. The Ambassador similarly announced that he was ready to provide support to Tatarstan entrepreneurs and investors interested in expanding their businesses into Vietnam.
In his remarks, TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov informed the guests that Tatarstan was one of the leading regions of the Russian Federation and that the republic is actively seeking to improve its attractiveness as an investment destination. “We must join our forces together so that our wishes of collaboration become manifested in concrete projects,” said Linar Yakupov.
During the meeting, the Vietnemese representatives expressed interest in exploring options in industries where Tatarstan and Vietnam have traditionally cooperated (automobile production, petrochemistry, shipbuilding, and trade) as well as in projects such as the Alabuga Special Economic Zone and SMART-City Kazan. TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov invited the Vietnamese representatives to take part in the International Winter Forum “INVEST in TATARSTAN 2012,” which will be held at the Kazan Ski Resort on 14 and 15 December.
