Cisco to Develop ICT Master Plan for Kazan Smart City

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Vice President of Cisco Andy MacDonald in Dubai today during the III Annual Investment Meeting.

During the meeting the two sides discussed Cisco’s role in the ICT infrastructure of Kazan Smart City. Following the meeting, Cisco and the Tatarstan Development Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding, under which Cisco will develop the ICT Master Plan for Kazan Smart City.

As Andy MacDonald explained, the Cisco ICT master plan is a modern infrastructure solution that will set Kazan Smart City on a level beyond those of normal cities, integrating information about all different sectors (among them health care, education, and tourism) in a centralized system. Furthermore, the existence of an ICT master plan will help raise the value of investment into Kazan Smart City for foreign investors.

In his remarks, President Minnikhanov noted that Kazan Smart City will become the calling card of the republic as a place where ideal conditions for investing and living exist. President Minnikhanov similarly noted that Tatarstan is read to continue its active collaboration with Cisco.
