Zoom videoconference with Investment Agency Minas Gerais
Head of the Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, as the chairman of NAAID.Global (National Association for Investment and Development), held a meeting with representatives of INDI - Investment and Development Agency of Minas Gerais, southeastern region of Brazil.
During the talks, the parties exchanged their intentions to establish close cooperation within the framework of the world association of Investment and Development Agencies (WAIPA), which also includes the Tatarstan Investment Department, as well as outside it in the system of Russian-Brazilian international relations. The approaches of Russian regions and Brazilian states to creating a favorable investment climate, powers and tasks of structures responsible for working with investors, organizational and legal structures of agencies, their budget, number of employees, KPIs, key success factors were also considered.
The Investment Agency of the Minas Gerais region was chosen to organize the interaction, since it became the first agency in Brazil more than 50 years ago, while the National Agencies did not even exist yet. The list of services they provided already included: tax incentives, environmental licenses, financing in the regional development bank, choosing a site for placing new projects, connecting to engineering infrastructure, investment cards of 883 municipalities, etc.
The agency of this Brazilian region is sponsored by the Economic Development Corporation and has shown an increase in investment by more than 20 times over the past 10 years.
