Ramada Kazan City Center Opens in Kazan

Ramada Kazan City Center has opened in Kazan, becoming the third hotel of the Wyndham Hotel Group brand Ramada in Russia.

The four-star hotel has 157 rooms of business, deluxe, and luxe suites, and one presidential suite. In total, the hotel occupies 11,500 square meters and has 50 underground parking spaces. The hotel is located on 39 ul. Chernyshevskogo, not far from the Kazan Train Station.

«The appearance of international brands is always a new step for Kazan», - Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov said about the opening of Ramada Kazan City Center. – «International hotel chains bring with them their client base and become unofficial promoters of our city and republic. Kazan will now appear as a city in the Ramada booking system – this is an important step for the city and for Tatarstan».

Tourism & the service industry are one of eight priority sectors into which the Republic of Tatarstan is seeking to attract investment, and is one of the most dynamically developing sectors. The number of tourists visiting Tatarstan is increasing at roughly 12-14% annually. More than 1.3 million tourists visited Tatarstan in 2012, and it is expected that this number will reach 2 million by the end of 2016.

From 2011 to 2012 Kazan jumped from 9th to 3rd place in Tripadvisor’s rankings of Russian cities as destinations for tourism, in part due to the increased quality of hotel offerings. At the beginning of 2013 Tatarstan had 186 hotels with a capacity of 11,989 guests, and the market is expected to continue to grow. A GVA Sawyer report recently noted that Kazan has 2.2 hotel rooms per 1,000 citizens, a ratio that is 2-3 times lower than the European average.

Tourism and the service industry are also one of the main clusters that Kazan Smart City is designed to develop. The first investor and resident of Kazan Smart City is Radiance Hospitality Group, a Singapore-based hospitality company that will build a 140 room transit hotel in Kazan Smart City’s Central Business Precinct and a block of service apartments.
