Today in Tatarstan Investment Development Agency was a meeting with U.S. multinational company Cisco.
The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, TIDA Deputy Insaf Galiev, Tatarstan Development Corporation CEO Bulat Gayanov. From the Cisco meeting was attended by Vice-President, Head of Russia and CIS office Betsis Paul, Director of work with government agencies Michael Christie, Managing director Maxim Lunkov and Account manager Dmitry Trofimov.
During the meeting the sides discussed cooperation in the framework of the Kazan Smart City project.
Kazan Smart City will be the driver for the development of the Republic of Tatarstan and today we note the great interest to this project from the investors", - said the head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov. He also told to the representatives of Cisco about the work carried out in the framework of the project: developing a detailed master plan, preparing the infrastructure area, beginning work on the implementation of the first objects of Kazan Smart City, the proposed laying of the first stone in the construction of the Kazan Smart City.
Head of TIDA also noted the importance of keeping such specifics like the basics, which are initially incorporated in the project, spoke about the development of cooperation with the University of Construction and Architecture of the Republic, a need to implement in the project foundations of modern urbanism.
"The most interesting projects in Russia, as a rule, are often implemented in Kazan", - said Vice President, Head of Cisco in Russia and CIS office Paul Betsis. - "And we are pleased to take part in their implementation. You have all the processes are faster, easier, more productive. Largely, it is a merit of the President, who is interested in it and takes an active part. We intend to continue our cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan and are ready to work within the framework of the Kazan Smart City project. Thank you for trusting us, we are ready to participate and assist you in this project".
Cisco Vice President also proposed to consider the option of creating a small advisory group to discuss the development of the Kazan Smart City, which will include representatives of the various spheres of activity. Company representatives also noticed that they are ready to share their knowledge and advice, regarding the creation on the project platform a showroom. Speaking about preparing of ICT Master Plan of Kazan Smart City, then, as explained Director of work with government agencies Michael Christie, he should be ready for cycle of design.

Recall that on April 30 at the III Annual Investment Forum - Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) in Dubai was a working meeting between the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and vice president of Cisco Andy McDonald. On the meeting was discussed the creation of intelligent master plan of the Kazan Smart City project. On the same day with the presence of Minnikhanov a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of ICT development for master plan of the Kazan Smart City project toke place between Cisco and JSC "Tatarstan Development Corporation".
