Tatarstan Participates in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

The 17th Annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) opened today in Russia's so-called northern capital. at the LenExpo Center. The central theme of this year's forum is "Global Economic Perspectives: Time for Action."

The forum will last for three days and is expected to attract more than 5,000 delegates, including leading experts, government officials, and business leaders of Russia and the CIS.

Tatarstan's delegation at SPIEF is led by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, and also includes Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Aide to the President of Tatarstan Airat Khairulin, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov, and Director of Ak Bars Holding Company Ivan Egorov.

The forum's programme is built around four main themes: "The Global Growth Agenda," "Russia's New Horizons," "New Catalysts for Change," and "Studies in Leadership: Conversations to Make a Difference." President of Russia Vladimir Putin is expected to address the forum during the plenary session on sustainable global economic growth.

TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov will be participating in a range of meetings with foreign companies during the course of the forum.
