TIDA, TDC meet with residents of Laishevsky district to discuss Kazan Smart City

Representatives of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) and Tatarstan Development Corporation (TDC) met with residents of Laishevsky district at a school in Stolbische village today. The goal of the meeting was to discuss the development of Kazan Smart City, a new urban development project located in Laishevsky district designed to spur investment into high technology, medicine, education, and tourism.

 The meeting saw a large crowd of residents of the district eager to learn more about the project. During the meeting, TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov noted that Kazan Smart City is being developed with the aim of developing the whole of Laishevsky district. He also stressed that the project, first of all, is an investment platform, where investors will develop their business.

 By 2015, the first building of Kazan Smart City will be complete. Linar Yakupov also invited residents of Laishevsky district to take part in groundbreaking ceremony of Kazan Smart City, which will be held on 1 October 2013, the eve of KazanSummit: 5th International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC Countries.

 During the meeting TDC CEO Bulat Gayanov discussed the infrastructure that is currently being developed to support the project.

In the question and answer portion of the meeting Head of Laishevsky district Mikhail Afanasyev and Head of Stolbische village Vladimir Mikheev helped Linar Yakupov and Bulat Gayanov field questions related to the function of Kazan Smart City, its precise location, and the procedure for becoming a resident of the new project.

Representatives of local businesses expressed interest in how they could participate in the development of the project, to which Linar Yakupov replied that Kazan Smart City is open for business and ready to explore ways of integrating their existing businesses.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to meet on a regular basis so as to discuss the development of Kazan Smart City.
